ID503 - Malaria

This Module will enable you to explore malaria, caused by infection with parasites belonging to the genus Plasmodium in depth. The bare facts are that malaria is a public health problem in more than 90 countries inhabited by 40% of the world's population and that there are 300-500 million cases annually with a mortality of 1.5-2.7 million, mainly children in Africa. The economic consequences of malaria are tremendous and it has been estimated that in Africa alone the cost of malaria is somewhere between US$3 and US$12 billion per year.

ID503 Malaria is an e-learning course featuring interactive exercises and animations of key learning points. The course is provided on CD-ROM together with a printed copy of the material and course reader.
